Fast and athletic like his sibling, Gavin can play at full-back but excelled last season as a centre-half, growing in stature throughout the campaign. The youngster’s impressive displays for the Reserves even prompted Arsène Wenger to name him on the bench for the FA Cup Fifth Round replay at Blackburn Rovers.
The youngster made 12 starts for the Arsenal second string last term and also played a key role for the Under-18s. He helped the young Gunners to win their Academy League section, featuring on 23 occasions, and was also one of the stars of the run to the FA Youth Cup Semi-Finals.
Gavin, who has been at Arsenal since the age of nine, made his first appearance for the first team as a second-half substitute in the 2-0 friendly win at Barnet in July.
