Former Atalanta youngster Vito enjoyed a fine second season with the Gunners, proving the popular choice of reserve-team coach Neil Banfield.
The goalkeeper spent the first three months of the 2006/07 campaign gaining valuable experience on loan at Championship side Barnsley. Although not the first choice during his time at Oakwell, Vito did make four appearances for the Tykes.
After returning to Arsenal the stopper made eight starts for the second string. The highlights of his season included a superb performance in a 2-2 draw with Reserve League South champions Reading and a fine penalty save in a 1-0 defeat to Watford.
