Alexandre returned to the Club following a successful loan spell at Charlton Athletic last season.
The Cameroonian youngster joined the Addicks in January on his return from the Under-20 African Cup of Nations in Congo. But despite a string of impressive performances Alex couldn’t save Alan Pardew’s team from relegation to the Championship.
The young midfielder arrived at Arsenal in the summer of 2005 after a successful trial. He had caught the eye of Arsenal’s scouts while helping former club Bastia win the Under-18 national French Cup, known as the Gambardella Cup.
Alex, who can operate in midfield or defence, has made 16 appearances for the Gunners in his fledging career but will be hoping to cement a regular place this season.
