Highly-regarded midfielder Mark has already had a taste of first-team football after replacing Denilson in last season’s Carling Cup win over West Bromwich Albion.
Creative, composed and with remarkable vision, Mark was an integral part of both the Under-18s and Reserves last season. The talented youngster was the only player to start all 18 games for the second string and also scored four goals in 17 youth-team games.
His performances throughout the 2006/07 campaign earned him a place in the first-team squad for the final day trip to Portsmouth and also saw him sign professional terms with the Club. Although he did not make it off the bench at Fratton Park, Mark was handed a starting role in Arsenal’s first friendly of the 2007/08 season - a 2-0 win at Barnet.
The youngster will be hoping he has forced his way into Arsène Wenger’s Carling Cup thoughts after orchestrating proceedings in the first half at Underhill.
